Over 4 successful summits, AFNIS has convened presidents, government officials, industry leaders, and investors to tackle critical issues facing Africa’s sustainable development.

Every AFNIS summit is designed to not only be topical but progress Africa’s natural resources sector.
Since the first summit, the progression has always remained the same:
Developing Africa’s natural resources sector sustainably and equitably for Africans.
Our inaugural summit (named “NAFNIS”) was the first summit of it’s kind held in Abuja.
As the world reopened following the Covid Pandemic, NAFNIS offered the nations of Africa renewed hope for change in our use of natural resources and intra-continental partnerships.
The theme focused on the sustainable development of our resources:
“A Greener Africa”.
The second edition of AFNIS built upon 2022’s proposals and theme of sustainable development of Africa’s resources. In 2023 we discussed the need for a just and equitably transition when moving towards a greener Africa.
Welcomed and supported by the new President of Nigeria, His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, AFNIS continues to foster a culture of innovation, and consequntial events to move our continent forward.
Opened by by H.E. Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, represented by H.E. Kashim Shettima, GCON, the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the 3rd AFNIS summit explored how Africa’s natural resources can fuel economic prosperity.
The summit called on nations to empower local communities and utilize fossil fuel revenues to fund transition plans for a greener Africa.
